is my glow plug relay going out?
My glow plugs and relay worked fine the last two winter. Now that it hot out I have started to notice some weird glow plug behavior. Many times when I turn the key to the on position the WTS light only comes on for half a second ( just flashes). But then if I turn the key off and then back on the WTS light comes on and stays lit for 10 seconds or so ( like normal). Would this be a sign that my relay is going out? The inconsistency makes me think ot is the relay instead of the glow plugs. Any ideas?

I was having another issue. I noticed that my key was very difficult to turn when the tempature would drop. To fix this I removed the cylinder and used some drylube spray to clean it up and make sure it was turning correctly. Then I used the drylube on the linkage on top of the steering column. I was able to do this without disassembling the column. I took the gaurd off under the dash and then, using the straw attachment, was able to spray up into the column while turning the key. Did this a few times and now the key turn easily even in cold weather.
After fixing the key issue I noticed that the WTS issue had cleared up too. I am thinking it had to do with gummed up contacts in the ignition cylinder/linkage.
Not sure if this will fix yours. I would still think you should check the gp's. If your behavior is constant I would think it would be a gp or controller. Mine was just weird because it was completely random/intermittent.
The drylube stuff works great. You can spray it liberally and it shouldnt damage your carpet or make a mess since it dries almost insrantly. I used the wd40 version, but have also had good luck with the liquid wrench version as well.
Hope this helps.
