I have a 1989 F350 CrewCab 4x4 w/460 engine, 5-speed trans.
I have had this truck at a shop, they replaced the ignition module, wires, rotor/cap, fuel pump, pulled tanks/blew lines, replaced exhaust.
Still, I have the same problem...when I turn the key, usually the first or second try, the truck will start.
If I take the truck out, the more I drive the truck, each time I turn it off and drive again, it seems to get harder to start...it takes more turn-overs to start...it is like it's not getting spark or fuel...but, the mechanics swears it shows pressure when it's turned over and getting spark...
He thinks it must be the coil.. I have the truck now, as I needed it.
I would like to replace the coil myself and would like to know what would be recommended? If I could get a better aftermarket coil, with stronger spark, if that would gain me somthing also, I would like to go that route, but not get too much $$ into it.
