AirFilter Sensor question

A friend just got an 03 F350 powerstroke truck, long bed crew cab. He claims he gets more power with the sensor disconnected. What is he doing to the computer/engine by leaving this unhooked?

Your friend obviously just doesn't understand. I didn't know 03s even had a light for the filter, but even if they do it has no effect on computer mapping.

X2 on your friend, Mine has the filter minder wired into the dash cluster though, no HP gains with removal.
