As for visiting another Dealership, Ford uses a system called OASIS. The OASIS system is based upon the VIN # of the vehicle. If a Dealership does work on a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, they input the work into the OASIS system.
So if the Dealership is telling you that the Warranty is void...you can bet they have put that info into OASIS. The next Dealership will see this entry in OASIS and basically tell you to pack sand.
Well Oasis or not, I would not take -'it has no oil, you voided the warranty' lip service from the dealer very lightly. But it's your money.
Saw the typo, it's not a 92' ,but an 02'. There weren't any leaks anywhere, no smoking, and never had to add any oil between changes. My fault for not checkin the oil myself, but I didn't know my wife let her take it. (was out huntin)
make them pull the pan and show you where everything was burned, and you'll want to do a search but I read the other day that a modular block interchanges

Use the phone and call the distant dealer's service manager, tell him what you were told by the first dealer and that you don't feel that you're getting a fair shake by them. Don't say the first dealer lied or tried to cheat you. 60 miles isn't so far unless you're walking. The second dealer may give you some relief, considering that you may buy your next truck from them and want to make you a customer. Your insurance may tow the truck to them saving you a few bucks. I would drive over there and meet with the S.M. personally if I were you. The S.M. may offer to help and when you're eyeball to eyeball you should get a sense of his sincerity or lack of it. The first dealer may have been just trying to sell an engine job and not put your info into the Oasis system. Try, you will never know for sure until you try.
Good luck with it and let us know the outcome.
