Lift kit...Spring pak vs. Drop brackets

I'm looking to install a 3 to 5 inch lift on my 02 F250 7.3...I've looked at both the spring pak w/ drop brackets, & just drop brackets.
The best advantage I can see with going just drop brackets is, the steering geomety should stay factory. If I go with a 3" spring pak & a 2" drop bracket, will the geometery change much? I don't see how it would, but that's just looking at it.
I've thought about just adding a leveling kit, & if I still want a bit more, then add a 2" drop bracket & a rear block later...Anyway, just looking for a little input on this...

it doesnt matter if u use drop brackets or springs, ur steering will still be affected..

the distance from the pitman arm to the steering knuckles will be 3 to 5"s lower depending on what kit u use...

so your really not saving urself any hassles gonig drop brackets over a full spring kit...

with the age of ur truck i'd highly suggest a new full spring kit anyways for both ride quality and the new bushings the lifted springs will have, not to mention all the small parts the kit will include that u will most certainly need...

hope that helps...

just be sure to get a kit that is specifced for the deisel engine u have.. a gas engine kit wont last under the weight of the coal burner.. 8-

Now that's something I had not thought of...I definitely see your point of the age of the springs.
Perhaps I do need to re-think this, & just go with a full spring replacement...
I appreciate the input...
Ya gotta luv the power of forums
