I haven't ordered aa kit yet but I took my old ones out and then put them back in after paintint the doors. I trimmed a lot off so they don't go all the way down the track, mainly because the top part holds the window, only need like 3-4 inches of it below. for the side parts roll the window down all the way and grab a flathead. You mainly just have to play with it for a little while. Put the inner one in first also, made it easier for me.

Im ressurecting an old thread because I need some advice. I need to replace not only the channel felts, but also the anti rattle strips in the doors of my 78. Years ago I ordered a kit from a site that is not a sponsor of this forum. It contained the anti rattle strips, all the felts, and the rubbers that go around the vent windows. I remember it being ok as far as quality. I hoped online this morning to check out JBG, NPD, as well as Dennis Carpenter and LMC who again are not sponsors of this site. There is a big difference in price, what about quality? I am leaning towards JBG because they seem to have the most affordable kit as of right now, with a pretty good reputation as well.

I am not opposed to paying for better quality, it just is hard to tell when ordering online. Any thoughts or opinions are definately welcome.

Thank you Tees, that is a nice detail write up. I have replaced them before and know what I am in for. I guess what I am asking for is opinions on who has the best product, for the money. NPD lists OEM correct anti rattle strips, as well as another listing that is cheaper which I assume is of lower quality. JBG has a whole kit, so does LMC. So basically I am looking for opinions on the products from each supplier to make the most informed decision I can.

Window felts

Not trying to steal your thread but I also have a question about window felts. I have a 79 with what I believe is a factory rear sliding window. The window has the plastic clip in the middle that locks it and has two sections that slide each way on a felt at the top and bottom of the sliding area. I cannot find these felts for the rear sliding window anywhere, does anyone have a source for these?? Any help is appreciated!!

I got mine from LMC, and as you saw there, I had to cut off one of the clips. If I had to do over after talking to others on here, I would have used a different vendor. I was happy with the price, but I felt I could have gotten a little better quality product.

jbk, I remember someone on here saying they found something to replace the felts in their sliding back window. Mine is showing a little wear, but nothing to worry about. However, I have seen a few over the years that were really worn, and sloppy. My rear window is a Passport brand, and has a metal clip to fasten the window together. I have seen the plastic clips for sale on flEbay.

I have also noticed recenty at shows some rear sliding windows that have a handle attached to the sliding window portion that I had never seen before, which I though would be a real nice addition.

And speaking of car shows, I am going to the Fall Carlisle car show this Saturday, so I will take my camera along and take some pictures of some dentsides to share with you all.

I have used some from LMC before and wasnt terribly happy with them. Add the fact that now they want 150 bones for the whole kit and I am thinking of giving Jeffs Bronco Graveyard's a try. I was hoping somebody would chime in with a thumbs up or down on that decision.

I would give it a try, but I wonder if they all are selling the same product from the one single manufacture? In that case it really wouldn't matter other than end price (product/shipping). But then I was also told no matter who you buy from don't expect them to last as long as the factoy Ford felts lasted. The up swing for me is my truck only goes out on nice days, and I never wash it, it only needs dusted off, and the occasional wax/buff job. So I am sure that will help in the longevity of the product since it sees no weather extremes, and is in a heated 50 degree garage all winter long. ( I love my dent )

Definately get the best you can afford, I went with some cheapies from jcwhitney 5 years ago. the vent rubber is cracking and the felt is rotting out.

Does anyone have some feedback on this Precision stuff?

I am looking to buy some in the next few weeks and am not sure if it is worth the extra expense to go with the DC stuff.
