If the MIL is on anything that is required to fix the MIL related issue is covered by the FEW, if it is in effect. If the vehicle is outside the warranty, then the customer is on the hook.

Show me exactly where it says that the MIL is always emissions related. Show me where it says that other "issues" cannot use this same MIL. Your post says that other lights are permitted, but says nothing of the MIL being emissions specific.

I posted the regs on the MIL direct from USEPA.
If you don't believe me get your emissions warranty book and call the EPA and ask them.

Repeating myself isn't adding any value.

Well, in that case, theres absolutely nothing in the epa rules that says the MIL is emissions specific. If you copied it from their regs, theres nothing there! I do agree, theres no reason any more to repeat yourself!

You are correct, the whole MIL thing was invented by EPA and the car companies to trick people into paying to scan for codes, never knowing whether it would be emissions related or not.
It's warranty roulette!! Is it emissions related or not?? Why is that light on?? Someone tell me!!!
