brakes dragging

I just replaced my front calipers and pads I have both books and they say after this job Ill need to recenter the proportioning valve well niether book say how I read the brake section front to back and can not find how to do this anywhere brakes are sticking already need to replace front pads again
any help would be appreciated

I use to own the same truck. I have the haynes manual. I looked thru it and did not see where they called for that precudure on the 1996. Just the ealier models. haynes chapter 9, section 11, paragraphs 13 and 14. I looked thru it quickly if i have a chance to look again later i will. is the brake light on? Do you have RABS?. Did you bleed the rears also?

did you actually jack the car upa nd try and turn the wheel and it was stuck? how long ago/mileage did you change the pads/calipers?

To add to what PS says, is it both fronts dragging or only one? Usual causes are sticking caliper slider pins (a little grease helps here), sticking caliper pistons or bad flexi brake hose.
