Looking for some help fellas...have a f250 Harley edition 2004 6.0 diesel that has at intermittent times either no throttle response or when it does start really labors to maintain an idle ....thinking it may be the ICP or is it the throttle pedal assembly...hoping it is not the latter as I have adjustable pedals and the throttle assembly is $700 from dealer!!!!! Any suggestions???? Or alternative sources for pedal assemblies???
egr was replaced 8 months ago....dealer ran diagostic and got P2284 code but couldnt verify as they wanted $575 to replace ICP (have an 04 engine with this sensor on the valve cover on passenger side) told to forget replacing as would do myself for the $147 cost of part.....but from what am reading on other posts thinking it may be the throttle assembly??????
I've had erratic, low idle and it was the ICP sensor. Replaced that myself. Also had dead pedal, truck would drop to idle and stay there. Restarting would fix. That was the pedal assembly, replaced under warranty. I'd try the ICP first. Could you replace the adjustable pedal with a non adjustable one?
what do you do if the truck is showing no throttle response and there are no codes? under warranty and dealership refuses to do anything but check codes.

I have an 2004 F350 that 20,000 miles ago had a reman engine installed after #5 injector overfueled and melted multiple things. Anyway, I had intermittent problem almost same as yours; lack of throttle response from idle, or idle dropped lower than should. I could kick it up and it ran fine once it got up to 1500rpm plus. It cleared up and I drove it for 400 miles then after sitting home for couple of days it had same problem. But this time it would not start after I found I had the problem again. I talked to another mechanic who suggested I leave the ICP sensor installed. I believe the FICM would just go into default mode (luckily its a later ICP installed in right valve cover), remove the connector and try it again. She started right up and so far today after driving couple of miles and restarting multiple times its okay. It did not throw a code prior to, but of course now unplugged it gives me P2285 ICP low sensor circuit. I will keep trying to fail it but will replace ICP next. So if it will help anyone try unplugging it first.
