Hi everyone! I've had my 2000 f-150 since april and it's finally starting to have stuff break on it. I had coil #1 go down on me and when i replaced it I started looking under the hood and check things out. I found a wire stuffed down with a piece of plastic on it. Not knowing what it could go to I asked a friend and we figured out it was the connection to the mass airflow sensor. Then we realized there isn't one on the truck at all. There is a chip in the connector where the maf would go. My question is where would be the best place to get a replacement?? i want to run a mass airflow since here in ohio it's starting to get cold and the truck is startin to run a little rough. Thanks for all your help.
The others are thinking the same as for the junk yard. You can get it other places but you will pay way more. When you put it on some one suggested cleaning it. I found a step by step procedure on this web site for cleaning mine. I used contact cleaner on mine and wiped it carefully. That fixed my problem as I run a K&N air cleaner and when you over oil it that will foul up your sensor where you get a 171 and/or 174 code. A simple cleaning will fix you up.
