e350 fuel leak

fuel is leaking all down the rear intake manifold when van is running.

I can't see where it's coming from. Somone said it maybe hose or orings.

Do i have to remove the turbo to get access to the fuel bowl?? It's really tight in there and i can't see ,uch let alone get my hands in there.

thanks

Theres lots of fuel hoses connecting to the fuel filter housing, Most likely one of those is the problem. it takes about 30-40 min to pull the filter housing and you dont need to take off the turbo. Id replace all the rubber lines and that would be a good chance that fixes your problem.

The fule pump is between the bowl and the turbo. There is a weep hole under the pump that can leak. There are two hard lines that go from the back of the pump to the back of the heads that can leak. You aslo have sensors on the fule bowl that can leak.

if it only does it when running then the most common leak in teh valley is teh weep hole on the fuel pump, especially if it just started leaking in this cold spell

I didnt see the yr make model of van . Does it have the mechanical pump or the electric ? The fuel pumps are expensive no matter which one . The mech pumps are two stage pumps . The first stage pulls the fuel from the tank. The second stage pushes it through the filter and supplies fuel system with the pressure needed to run . I have had a couple of the pumps leak .

If its the mech fuel pump there are two metal gaskets on the back where the banjo bolt enters rear of the pump . They may be stuck to the pump or bolt . DO NOT LOSE THEM. The new pumps dont come with them and they are probably a salvage part . My salesman at Ford cant find them as a part that is stocked . When you get the pump off you should be able to tell if it has been leaking out the weep hole .

It runs off the camshaft which is in the center on the engine just under the valley.

The vacum switch is on the back of the bowl on my truck. Not sure when they switched it over to the FPR.
