(hevy frame width

selling a receiver hitch on craigslist and have a guy wanting to know if it would fit his cheby. Hitch is 38" wide. Anyone know the frame width for an '83 cheby 1500?

The Chevy frame is wider. I bought a hitch that was on a Ford, for my 81 Chevy, but it was too narrow. Lucky it is adjustable, so it could be widen to fit. Now the hitch is back on a Ford again.

Any know what vehicles have a 38" wide frame? I don't know what this tow hitch came off of and it's hard to get rid of if I don't know what it fits.
