My guess would be no, since on my '98 when the 3rd row seat is released it has to come out (no upright stowage position), but I am pretty certain that '99 or '00 and up have a forward stowage position that would dictate some type of of change in the front legs of the seat. Possible a simple mod though ?
In 1999 Ford changed the design of the rear seat to roll in / roll out. As a result the feet of the seat changed, I can't say for sure it won't fit, but, having owned a '98 (wrecked) and a '01 I'm pretty sure it won't

Greetings Everyone,
For starters, this is a great website for info. I'm also looking into adding a third seat in my 97 expy. The problem is, it did not come equipped with one. Are after-market rear seats a pain to install and will they go in and out(easily I hope)? Thanks for any help.

3rd row seat in 1997 Expedition - not previously equipped
Hi all,
I noticed that Mpruitt had inquired about adding a 3rd row seat to a 97 Expedition that was not originally equipped for one. I too, am wanting to do the same. I have a seat that came out of a 2000, is there a kit of some sort that I can purchase to get it safely and properly installed in my 1997?
I was told all 97-up 3rd row seats would interchange - WRONG.
I bot one from a '99 and the feet were too large to fit into the
mounting slots in the rear floor. Turns out 97-98 have narrow feet
while 99-up have wider feet.
Went to the dealer and took pics of the differences and was able
to get a full refund.
