Wish List

Clay,

Maybe you should have a wish list section on your website. We fill out what we want, and post the wives addresses with it, and you send them the lists

After reading through all theses posts, I'm becoming more and more pumped about my chip coming in....

What's making it hard is that the USPS absolutely SUCKS when it comes to telling you where a package is and when to expect it...

My package was shipped on tuesday the 16th so in plain english it should be here by saturday the 19th if not monday the 21st...but I would like to know when so I can set aside some time to enjoy mine and my truck's Christmas present...

Regardless...can't wait till it gets here!

I know what you mean, couldn't wait either. When I know it was coming and UPS said it was out for delivery that day, I took out my PCM and had it all cleaned up(rubber on the chip connection) and had the truck ready for the install, so I could go out and play.. Man are you going to be amazed..

Jody and Diane gave me a new truck for Christmas!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, my truck is now DP-Tuned and OMG what a difference!

My package showed up 12/19 at noon and while ever so excited and still in my PJs I raced out to the mailbox to ask the mailman if he had a package for me. He said: "You must be looking for this" and with a smile he said: "Merry Christmas!"

I raced inside changed and went right to work getting it installed. I started by returning my truck to stock and demoting my SCT to "expensive code reader". After a complete drive cycle stock, it was time...it took me 30 minutes and little creativity, but I got it installed correctly the first time.

I pulled out of my driveway and noticed my truck was instantly WAY more responsive and really wanted to go. Coming out of my neighborhood, I started noticing how strange my trans shifted compared to my SCT. It was SO smooth and firm going through the gears and deceled like a big rig. After letting the truck warm up, I set it on 80 econo and mashed it; I was so excited and blown away it was like being on a rollercoaster!!!

I took it out on the freeway so see if Jody's tuning solved a problem I'd been having with my truck and sure enough it did. My truck for whatever reason was getting really crappy mileage even with my SCT. The overhead liar consistently read 14.5-15 mpg and it was reflected on paper too. I reset it and to my amazement it said 19.4 and was able to maintain it. On the freeway my truck felt so confident and powerful I just couldn't believe it. I would *lightly* press the accelerator and before I knew it I'd be at 75, 80.

Later that night I took my Best Friend and his wife out for a ride and he couldn't believe it either!!! He more jealous of me and my truck as a result,

Fast forward to today 12/29

It's been 10 days and a 1 1/2 tankfuls since I got my DP-tuner in the mail and I've lost count as to how many times I've said "wow" or "I like the way Jody did that!" Driving my truck is now SO much more exciting and now I look for excuses to drive!

I filled up this morning and to my amazement, I saw something I hadn't seen since after I lifted my truck in 2007: the overhead read 18.7 mpg and has been consistent; it on occastion goes to 18.6 mpg or 18.8mpg, but its way better than 14.5 mpg or 15 mpg. The mte would usually say 600-650 mte or MAYBE 700 mte IF I was lucky and really babied it. But I have to say I'm very satisfied with 18.7 mpg and 823 mte. Pics below...

I'll finish by saying that now I'm another satisfied customer and a witness to the great workmanship of Jody and Diane Tipton and will recommend their Chip to ANYBODY with a 7.3 Powerstroke.

To Jody and Diane, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! For giving me a brand new truck and making me fall in love with my Powerstroke all over again!

Congrats on the new truck.lol. Don't get too excited about your new MPG untill you hand calc it. Mine is reading over 26 MPG. They tend to be off with good tuning. Have fun.

Congrats on the new toy and like Rick said the lie-o-meter is wayyyyyyyy optimistic. No way can you get 18.7 with the pedal all the way to the floor. But whatever you do dont tell the wife its wrong, just tell her with all that money you will be saving on fuel you need to get even more mods!

Granted, but it seems to be getting much better mileage than with my SCT. Lately I haven't been able to get more than 600 out of a tank hand calculated, this time around it got close to 700 something miles, so it's atleast getting better.

Here's the best part: I don't have a wife to answer to! So whatever mod I CHOOSE to get are ok'd by me The lady who decides she wants to be Mrs. Toreador_Diesel will have to understand my bond with my truck; it was here before her and will be here after her if that's what it comes down to.

Getting over 700 miles in a tank is darn good. I think you have a bigger tank then us super duty guys. I can get 450 miles if I don't push it hard.

That's funny right there. As a bachelor myself I couldn't agree more.

Glad you are enjoying your DP Tuner.

LOL, yeah, I told Renee that the other day as I filled her Ex up passed 46 gallons.

I've been able to put over 33 in the F250's "28" gallon tank.

I can usually get 460 to 485 miles out of a fillup on my 250 (depending on how mych "fun" my right foot has caused), using 31 to 33 gallons at fill up.

Two years and 10 days later!!!

I'm still happy with my DP-Tuner, so much so that I upgraded to an F6

It still brings a BSEG to my face and has paid for itself over and over again. Whether it's power, fuel economy, or just usefulness; my truck is smarter, stronger, and better than it's ever been.

Funny you mentioned that so long ago, it almost seemed prophetic, lol! Since installing my Singles, I have the permagrin and BSEG all over again, but there's a little fear and surprise in there.

There have been times I mashed it from a dead stop or passed someone and my truck took off like a bat out of hell! She's spooked me good a few times, but man oh man does she make me come back for more (Mind you, this was only in 80E, I would HATE to see what would happen if it were in 120R)

I sure hope you got that Intercooler tube more round than just having me beat on it with a hammer and block of wood. Jody's tunes might be a little much for my redneck repair.
I actually ended up with a 1200 hi-idle that was especially helpful during the winter and summer

Believe it or not, the redneck repair we did that day is still holding on strong, singles and all!

There have been a few times I ALMOST got caught opening her up on the freeway and even on some lonesome back roads. I mean, it's a huge wide open road....nobodys around

I've had the "slow down" lights flashed at me by cops as they drove by, but thus far I've been VERY fortunate to avoid a ticket. (knock on wood)

If you haven't invested yet and/or are on the fence.....dooooo it! You won't regret it!

Toreador, it would be fun one of these days to get our trucks together on a drag strip. They are pretty closely matched. Glad you are still enjoying it!
