I have a 1969 Ford F-350 used for towing.
It has a stock 4 barrel intake off a 390,
and a Holley 600 cfm vacuum secondary carb.
headers, K&N filter, stock cam. The gear ratio
is 4.56 and I run 16" tires, 4 speed. The problem
is that the back 2 cylinders on both sides
are running lean. The plugs are white to
light grey. The front 2 cylinders on both
sidesare running rich. the plugs are black.
With a vacuum secondarys leaning the froont jets and richening the rear won`t do anything but make it run to lean because the rear barrels only kick in when you punch it. Concetrate on the front barrels only are the mettering screws set equally.
To adjust the idle mixture put a vaccum gauge on the motor and adjust them to read the highesy vaccum as well as watching the idle speed. The other thought is if the jets are plugged on one side.....
