Like you said, everyone will have a different opinion based upon their experience..........having said that, here is my experience:
Motorcraft, Bosch Platnums, and NGK - I have had excellent experience with
Autolite - Fair
Champion - Absolutely horrible (They seem to break down quicker than the others in my applications)
Accel U-groove - The most excellent until you flood it the first time. They run like a scalded dog until they get wet the first time or so and they are never the same.
Father-in-law says his Split Fires work fine but did not see the $7 a plug advantage.
There is my 2 cents worth. Take it at that.
Hope it helps some when you get everyone else's reply.
I have always used NGK because they have been the most reliable. Champions are just junk and I`ll never buy them again. The Splitfires work real good, and I do think they make a difference in acceleration, but I havent found them to be as reliable as an NGK.
Im my foriegn cars, I use NGK or Nippondenso, whichever is specified for that car (It's usually one or the other that I can get for a particular car, not both, but I prefer NGK split V's if available).
For my truck, I found a set of Accel U-Groove plugs for $4 for a set a 8 on sale one time at my local Advance Auto (they were cleaning out inventory.) I have had them in for a year with no complaints.
Champions have very soft electrodes, good for lawnmowers, not for trucks.

dont understand why you guys say champion is horrible, hve them in my 64 and my dad has them in his 64. They run great!!! they might not work for those big 460's but they sure do work on our 223 I-6's. I also plan on putting them in my 65 f-100. i am going to see if champions will work on v-8s once i put the engine in my 65.
Champions do work, but I think that it has to do with the engine, we have 7 motorcycles, 3 snowmobiles and a four wheeler, and each one of them will not run with champion spark plugs for over an our. I did have them in my truck (390) but with such luck in all these 2 strokes I decided I would get NGKs. I also have an NGK in my lawnmower and its been there for 4 years and it still runs as good as a Briggs and scrapiron can, but when you compare costs, I would go with the NGKs I think they are the best value.
