heater problems
here's my problem, the heater on my truck barely works. it puts out heat ,but it doesn't blow very hard and it's not real hot. any help you could provide would be great . thanks for your time.
First I agree check the coils and vents. Remove all non-Ford debris. I have found everything inside heater ducts in VT trucks and cars. Mice love to nest in them and chipmunks think they make great nut storage facilities. Leaves and all the other crap that works it way in.
Disconnect your heater hoses and flush your heater core out with water. Does the flow seem restricted? The core could be clogged.
Check the valve on the heater hose. See that it is in fact opening and closing.
Check your thermostat. Your truck would not be the first one with a thermostat stuck open or just plain old missing.
Now the money part. A new thermostat is a few bucks and a new heater core will set you back about $25.00 from a parts store.
Good luck. Stay warm.
