rearend swaps...
Hi all, this has probably been posted before but I couldn't find it through a search...I have a '78 F100 and was wondering what year(s) Ford 9" rears would fit my truck...I know (or think I know) that 73-79 will fit...but what about 80 on up? Thanks,

Rick, I think the only thing that is different on the 9 in. besides ratios is the axle spline count. Some used a 31 count while most were 28, but the year range is much broader than you listed.

wn, some of our posters, have written that there are both, 28 & 31 spline count axles, that would have to be properly mated.
Are you declairing this not so?
