Picked Up a 00 Expedition XLT 5.4, A4WD, 4H, 4L, Noticed the way it rides
is different from my 98 XLT 2H, A4WD, 4H, 4L, I fill a slight trimble / vibration
during normal driving, The same feeling I get from my 98 when it's in 4H ?
I'm assuming this is from the AWD ? The trimble / vibration is really noticable
when I have to step in to it or pulling a hill on the interstate. The vibration is not like a out of balance tire or bad u joint. It does not have the pickup that my 98 w/partime 4x4 has. There is some torque converter shudder BUT this vibration is not TC shudder.. Is this common to the AWD EXP and Nav ??

Thanks In Advance
Vibrations are not normal. My '99 without the 2H doesn't make any vibrations.
If the vibration is more noticable on acceleration I would be looking at the rear half of the drive train. I'm not sure how you have ruled out a u-joint or tire, That is where I would start.
The front driveline is just coasting along up there until there is a speed difference between the front and rear. During normal driving on dry roads there is no torque going to the front.
Seems like your assumption is that the AWD is somehow the culprit. From what you describe though, I do not see how.
COP, or COP boot causing a misfire could be it too.
It sounds like you have a bad COP and it hasn't thrown a code yet.
I agree. My vibrated one night and rattled things in my cargo area. I thought it was the transmission, tires out of balance, rear end, bad u-joint but then it threw a code an hour later an it was a misfire on Cylider #3. Seems common for these to go. I would bet this is your problem.
Hey alloro, jhva, Big Greenia, cecilt Thanks for the replies, Well it's more like slippage(I think) and w/the slippage you get this slight vibration(Trimbling) Not sure if thats normal ? Driving my 98 at 50mph and I hit the passing gear I get the noise(sound) related to the downshift of the trans and the increase of the rpm's, and it pulls good under hard acceleration. I get that sound in the 00 but there is a slight vibration or trimble but it feels like it's from the trans or transfer case and it's not pulling as hard as my 98 ? There is no noticible miss at idle or mild acceleration. The 00 sounds and pulls like my 98 up to 2800 r's from a dead stop after that it seems to lay down untill it shifts, It will do this in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear under hard acceleration? If I drive what I consider normal it feels, sounds ok ?
