How the heck do you change out the light bulbs on the turn signal and marker lights on the front end?
'99 350 7.3 turbo.
I see some clips on top of the headlights and I'm assuming they have to be pulled up. Do the headlights have to come out first before I can get to the marker lights?
I am pretty sure you have pull the lamps. It's pretty simple, there are two phillips screws under the lamps that come out and then you ****** the running lamps/turn signals off, leaving the headlight in place.
I just checked my owners manual, and it shows how to change the bulbs. You do have to remove the entire headlight assy, and then the parking light socket pulls out of the back of the assembly.
2 screws at the top, 2 screws at the bottom, and press the retaining clip at the top of the assembly while pulling the assembly straight out. If removing the lamp is difficult, removing the 4 screws along the top of the grille will help provide more clearance.
The 05+ headlights are one unit. The 99-04 headlights are separate from the turn signals and running lights. The lower screws are in the same place though.
Well, I don't see any screws on the top of the headlight assys other than the adjusting screws. I do see two metal clips on the back side of the headlight on the top. I just can't get them to budge. Looks like you have to push two small tabs out below the metal clips, but I can't get to 'em.
I don't see anything in the '99 owners manual showing how to get to these either.
Thank you, Bill.
On my 1999, there are no screws up top.
I'll keep poking around. I did print out page 61 to see if I was missing something.
The '99 service guide from the motorcraft website does not show me any detail how to replace the light either.
Thanks for your help.
