Thought id check on here before i went into a dealer looking Dumb!!
Just got my 2002 F250 the other day. as some might know(seeing me post a few post)
I got two keys with it and no remote! I thought they put remotes on all em anymore! lol
First thing-on my 99 F150 it has a chipped key(BS) and remote
the F250 keys are small squares as if dup's w/ no remote.
Can i go into a dealer and find out if the truck came with it originally? and whats the cost if anyone knows to get a new one if it had one?
No chips (PATS) in the keys on SD until the '08 year.
If your truck is a Lariat or higher trim, it should have keyless. If it is XLT or lower, chances are it does not. A good clue is the keypad on the door. If it has that, it probably also had remotes.
Like was said not all superduties had keyless even if they had power locks. My suggestion would be to install an aftermarket alarm, add in remote start too if you like. With power door locks it's not a bad install, then you would have alarm and RS, then several aux outputs to run other things.
Look at Sam's Club website. Sam's Club - Bulldog Security KE1702 Remote Keyless Entry
They sell a Bulldog Security Keyless Entry with two key Fob's for $30.00 shipped. It works great and doesn't take long to install. I used the starter disable relay for having the turn signals flash when locked or unlocked. This will save you from buying a extra relay. System works great.
