putting a 351 from a 1994 F-250 into a 1991 F150 that has a 302

Hi,
I have a 1991 Ford F-150 that has a great 302 with a bad AOD transmission.
I have the opportunity to buy a 1994 351 Motor and Transmission which is a C6.
Heres the kicker, I stupidly bought a 1992 F150 with a bad motor to use the transmission. Problem is the transmission is a E4OD... So I'm thinking of pulling my Good Motor (302) from my 1991 Ford and putting it in the 1992. Then buying this 351 motor with C6 transmission and putting it in the 1991 truck.
What do you think?

Is there a lot of things I have to do to my 1991 Ford f150 to accomidate a 1994 351 with a C6 which came out of a F-250?
I'm worried about wiring, computer, motor and transmission mounting issues.
Thanks Ken

Don't think you need to worry about the motor mounts or tranny mount if you're not changing the tranny. 302 to 351 will require exhaust work. Can't help on the computer questions. If Conanski or Sub Ford see this, I'm sure they can answer. There are other people here who have experience with that. Think I remember reading you have to use the flex plate ( equivalent of flywheel for auto. tranny ) from the 351. Can't promise any of my answers are correct ( except the exhaust ). Okay just re-read your post. I got confused. You're putting a 351 w/C6 in to replace an 302 E4OD. Know from reading here if you go the other way there are computer issues for the tranny ( E4OD in to replace a C6 ). Disregard what I said about not changing the tranny mount, I don't know now.

Sorry about that.
I have a 1991 F150 with a great motor (302), the AOD Transmission went out.

I bought a 1992 Truck to us the transmission, the guy told me it was an AOD... Come to find out it was an e4OD... So I can't use it in my 1991. Now the motor in the 1992 is a 5.0 so I was thinking of taking the Motor from the 1991 and putting it in the 1992 to get it run.

Then that would leave me with no motor or tranmission for the 1991 F-150.
I found a deal that, a Guy has a 351 with a C6 transmission on it that came out of a 1994 f-250. So I was thinking of putting it in the 1991.

Thus, the problem that I don't know if it would mount up, and not sure if the 1994 motor and transmission would work with my 1991 computer and wiring diagram... Is that a better discription?

I mis-read your post. My fault. Know motor mounts from a 351 & 302 are the same, as are the bellhousing patterns. Above & beyond that, I can't offer much advice / info except 302 & 351 are different exhaust. Think I remember reading in '95 or '96 there was a computer change. Again, I'm not sure. My memory lies to me , A LOT!

Your plan is good and I don't see any major problems. The 5.8/C6 will drop right into your '91 and all you'll need to get it running is an early 5.8 computer, no wiring harness changes necessary as long as the motor you get is complete with all the EFI bits. The other swap is just a 5.0 for a 5.0 so that's a no brainer.

Thanks, for all your help

When you say a 5.8 Computer from an earlier model... what year would you recommend (Range). Also where would this compter hide at... when I looked behind my dash I saw 2 boxes that looked like a computer box.
Thanks...

I like the olsder Ford trucks.... easier for me to work on.
Ken
