Need help

I need to know how hard it is to do cab mounts on a 1974 f100. I'm replacing my worn out 302 with arebuilt 429 with a set of headman headers and dual exhaust with a 750 cfm 4 bareal carb. I'm also going to have the 460 heads port and polished and put on my truck. I'm going to use it at the track and on the street I'm hopeing for high 14's out of my truck. It has 2.73's I think I need 3.55;s any help is great.

Turbo, You mentioned "cab mounts" in your post. After reading it I think you are talking about "engine mounts"? The easiest and least costly thing for you to do would be to rebuild your 302. Add a shift kit for your transmission (assuming an automatic), and a set of lower (higher numerically) rear gears. You can improve the 302's performance with a cam, headers, improved ignition and you might be surprised at how quick these small block engines can go. Installing a 460 is not to difficult, depending on your budget, mechanical skills and parts availability. I'd start a new thread "installing a 460 in a 74 F100" This will get you more specific advice. Also read the archives, (research), there are others that have made this swap.
