sorry for the long post and thanks for the info
sorry paul its a 92 f150 with 302 the plug that came out are ngk g-power part #7159 thay have a vary long reach the motor has been changed the previous owner had it change becous it had a rap coming from bottem end
OK it's going to be hard to see but what letter is cast into the top outside corner of one of the cylinder heads near the valve cover.. see pic below. It should be an R, S, or T.
I'm finding that the spark plugs I am removing from E7TE heads are not fitting in my gt40 heads, because of the shoulder above the threads on the plug.
Do the lightnings use different spark plugs than normal f-series smallblock trucks?
Motors with E7 heads take the Motorcraft ASF-32C plug while those with E6 and GT40 heads take the AWSF-32C plug, these are the same thread size but the W has a longer reach. I'll take a pic and post it up so you can see the difference.
The G version has the same dimensions but is designed for aluminum heads, and the numeric suffix is the heat range..the higher the number the hotter the plug with 32 considered normal range. I'll add that the last letter of the suffix is the electrode type, C = Copper, P = Platnium, etc.
you guys are a great help i love this website !!! i cross the bosh plugs that were in the truck to ngk the plug # is TR55-1GP the normal autolight plug for a 302 are way shorter and a bigger thread size thay will not thread in the head at all
