4x4 low question

My truck goes into 4 high easy enough. But im having trouble getting it into 4 low. Is there a different actuator for the 4wd and the 4 low?

What is the proper procedure to engage it?

Regardless what year the vehicle is it must be stopped with the transmission in neutral to select 4lo.

You have to push down on the stick to get into 4low. If it does not push down then you'll have to climb under the truck and spray the slide part with PB blaster or something. It's good to lube all that stuff under there so that you don't have problems in the middle of a deep mud hole or snowbank.

+1.. whatever you do don't force it or you'll break the linkage, take the whole thing off and apply some antiseize if possible, just did this on my truck.

Nope it's all the same motor. Does it seem like it's trying to go into 4low. These motor are very problematic. You may need a new motor or chech the wiring to the 4low button.
Good luck!

Ya i guess wireing is next. It goes into 4x4 hi very quickly and without a hitch, im not crawling under the truck in the blizzard to see if its making any noise when 4 lo is hit. Haha. guess i will just deal with it.
