just did an oil change to winter stuff 10-30, air filter was a month or so ago.
will try fuel filter but I burn VO and it dont change between dino or VO while running.
and of cousre its hard to explain. but it sound like when the fan comes on in the summer.
I have some custom card board to block part of the radiator cause its been below zero lately adn at hwy speed its colder. but it dont block the whole radiator just about 3/4 of it.
and its to cold to change the filter out right now.
AIS filter change, and adreniline pump is recent a few months
could it be the tranny? it sounds kind of like if you had a stick shift and were pushing the clutch in slightly????
i only say that cause when I romp on it dont the presures increase to engage where at cruising speed the presure is less?
Carrier bearing? A buddy of mine as a squeel at certain speeds between about 40 and 60 and it's anoying as all get out. It's some where in the rear end but he hasn't figured out where yet. I think he's waiting on it to break.
its any time I am on the gas just normal driving. slow fast dont matter. if I were to romp on it, it acks normal, and that is why I thought of more presure when more fuel is being asked for.
Maybe the exhaust is touching something causing the noise when you are just rolling along but when you get on the gas the torque of the motor is enough to move the exhaust away from what it might be rubbing on. Just to rule it out check the clearance around your exhaust system, especially where it goes by the tranny and the tranny cross member. Try moving it back and forth in that area. Best idea I can come up with and easy to check.
its not an exhust sound, but I will look. its finally above zero so it will be easier to do with no garage.
I have changed out the Pedistal to a NON EBV when I replaced my turbo with a re-build stock and WW.
I have looked for leaks, but it was -18 the last time I was looking so it was quick.
will do some more checking.
the only leak i have is one of my calipers, yeah for me. nothing like having having dirty snow under your truck from a leaky caliper. although the snow helped me find out I had a leak. yeah for winter lol
yes it goes away when coasting.
rear axle? hmmm. will try and check it out when I get back from my trip.
the sound is when I am slightly on the go pedal or cruising at 70 mph.
Best description I can do is it sounds like when your fan comes on in the HOT weather. taxing the motor on how it feels too
