on an adventure riding website i found, there was a guy from BC planning to ride across canada in the winter. if i had a lighter dual sport/enduro machine more suited to off road/rough road riding, it wouldn't bother me to ride in the winter... studed tires are available, though it would be pretty dangerous...

And it's always colder on a bike, I remember one ride in early spring, I went to the city from the farm when I was young. It wasn't too bad in the afternoon when I left but the trip home was freezing. It was around the +1C mark and I had on my skidoo suit jacket and two pairs of pants, but it was a lot colder than riding snowmobile. must be due to less wind protection on the bike and you don't have the engine in front of you to get some heat from.

Yeah i rode a little bit. I had some repairs to do, and I cant get it to start very easy, even after taking the carb off and cleaning it twice. Think im gonna try a little more next summer though, I love riding, almost forgot how much fun an enduro can be!

I got lucky with mine that it does have the compression release. I just cant seem to get the carb clean enough or set right, or something! When its warmed up it starts in one or two kicks, but when its cold it takes a few, sometimes up to twenty minutes to get it started.
Its also 600 cc and that gets tiring after awhile haha
I got mine for a good deal too, bought it for 500 spent about 300ish dollars on it so far, last thing I need is signal lights and a battery and she should be street legal!
