Timing Light

Hi all, I am going to purchase a timing light and was wondering what/which brands are best, etc. Thanks, Rick

I have a craftsman induction type light that works well. This is my second one. The first one dropped and broke - too easily I thought. If you take care it will serve you well!

Try to find one with a advance dial. It makes it much easier to read total advance.

I got one of the old Penske types with a metal casing at a pawn shop for 20$. It's tough, although it shocks the sh** out of you if you hook the spark plug lead to the wrong cylinder.

I got a plastic one at Advance Auto parts for $38 and the casing was broken when it came out of the box. Cheap light plastic. Made me wish I'd spent another 15 for the metal casing and advance dial.
