Head studs?

Ok I am replacing injectors and doing an EGR delete. While I'm in there can I pull the head bolts one at a time and put in studs? The gasket is fine.

It has been done but not recomended. There is no way deal way of knowing the hgs are %100. They could be bad and just not show signs of it yet. Point is why go that far and not spend the 250 or so on new hgs and not have to worry about it. My moto is do the job the right way the first time.

Nice info but you still didn't give the year. I wouldn't take the chance even with that many miles. Jmo.

then u probably would benefit from the updated HG's and since there is a specific stepped torque sequence ,, you would benefit from that also
