So, what was the factory application for these full hub caps? Were they standard on Custom Cabs or Rangers, or were they optional on all models?

My '67 F100 Ranger Custom Cab has the small caps, which I think are original.

I think these caps would look nice on mine. I'll make you an offer of $50 + shipping. Or, I'll give you $75 cash if you want to drop them off here at my shop in Burbank. You can reach me at brucejohnson100 at att dot net or 818-955-8152

They are Hubcap Universal Identifier number: FRD-602

They are going for about $90 each Reconditioned.

Fits 1966-1977 with 15" wheels or 16" with adapter.

Most comonly seen on the 1966-1977 Ford Broncos.

On 4x4 applications, Universal identifier # FRD-602 are the Rear caps. FRD-601 are the front caps and have a cut out in the center for the hub.

A Picture of FRD-601 can be seen here: http://www.hubcaps.org/hubcaps/ford/frd601.jpg

These wheel cover have been reproduced.

Fits 1966-1977 with 15" wheels or 16" with adapter.

Since these wheel covers are C6AZ1130G, they also fit 1966 Galaxie/LTD, which was the original application.

These covers were first offered in 1966 for F100's (as an option on all 2WD & 4WD models with 15" wheels) and Bronco's (standard equpment), but...

The Bronco's and F100 4WD's use only two of them...on the rear wheels only.

The front wheel covers on 1966/77 Bronco's (and F100 4WD's) look the same at first glance, but are not the same.

Instead of the emblem in the center, there is a red plastic ring, the 4WD front hubs poke thru this ring.

Then there's this: There were FOUR different versions of these same wheel covers used on '66 Galaxie/LTD's and F100 2WD's. I kid you not. What the hell was Ford thinking?

One type has a black ring in the center, one type has a red ring (C6AZ1130G) in the center as pictured in post #1.

One type is painted argent on the cone, one type is not (C6AZ1130G).

All the 1966/77 Bronco's (and F100 4WD's) used (2) C6TZ1130B .. Front Wheel Covers w/a 3 5/8" Center Hole / (2) C6AZ1130G .. Rear Wheel Covers

These covers will also fit 16" wheels, but you need the so-called "adapters."

This is what Ford did (beginning in 1972) to install 15" wheel covers on 16" wheels.

Ford used the optional 16" trim (beauty) ring (D2TZ1210A) first offered in 1972 on F250/350's. The trim ring is snapped onto the wheel first, the wheel cover is snapped onto the trim ring.

btw: If any one is interested and lives locally, I have one used wheel cover with the black ring (it's kinda faded) without the argent paint...come and get it.

And ...did you know that Ford also offered other styles of wheel covers for 1967/79 F100's?

One of the most popular types was a simulated mag style wheel cover, used on 1967/77 F100 2WD's, 1967/68 Galaxie/LTD's and XL's.

I seem to recall that I have two sets of these covers (used) somewhere, that I bought for spares, as I once owned a 1968 XL. If I find them, y'all can come and get them.

Thanks, Bill!

That's about what I thought. So, they were optional on any of the pickup models, not standard for some particular line. I remember seeing them on the Galaxies, and in some catalog photos of F100's.

I'm going to buy this set from Chris and put them on my '67 F100. It's white and I want to keep it in classic stock trim. Right now it has the original small caps. I'd thought about adding trim rings with the small caps, but these Galaxy caps will look better. Eventually I might get a set of the repro Mustang-style Magnum 500 wheels, but that's not in the budget right now.

I took a pic of a minty 1966 F100 4WD at the 2008 F100SuperNats held in Knoxville TN with these wheel covers on it.

I emailed this pic (and a bunch more) to SteveBricks, the SoCal Chapter leader who posted them on FTE.

I no longer have these pics, but I can find the thread and bump them up. If you're interested in seeing the pics, P/M or email me the next time we are both on FTE.
