5 years ago bought a 2003 superduty 7.3 and since then sunk $7,000 in it always did my own work on it which that i only learned how to do on this great site an great members , so the other day my front seal started leaking so i decided to let a shop do the work on it this time so 3 days later around 9 pm a friend called an said hey theres a fire down there at that shop where your truck is so i go an drive to it an low an behold hes rite all the roads were blocked off around it so you coudnt see much but big clouds of black smoke so finaly 4 hours later got a fireman to let me peak in the door an sure a enuff my truck was burned up , so now the search a be on for another one after the ins.co. settles up
I know how you feel bud. Three weeks ago today I got a call about a fire in the paint room. Nothing survived after the mixing banks lit up. Not something I wish on anyone, but the new store almost makes it better.
Hopefully insurance does you right on your truck mate.
hopefully i find another like it with the 7.3 gonna try an buy it back from the insurance company gotta be some good parts that are still useable
Well I hope you find some kind of silver lining in this cloud. What a bummer.
BTW, this reminds me about something I read in a Haynes manual once about an acid that forms when some auto parts are exposed to high heat. IIRC it was very dangerous. Something to keep in mind.
