I put new rotor, inner & outer bearings, pads, caliper, and brake hose on my truck.
The pads rattle in the caliper while driving. I replaced the caliper and had the rotor turned and can not get rid of this pad clatter. I am at a total loss of ideas.
Any insight would be great.
The noise drives me crazy when I am driving in neighborhoods. Other than this the brakes are great.
If your outboard pad has ears on it like those pics in dave's link, take a big pair of channel locks and bend them in to keep it from ratling, I dont think you ever said what you're working on.

The clatter is working on me. It is my 83 2wd in my avatar.
My pads look just like the diagram. How is it that the clip was not on my brakes before and they did not rattle? Why is the other side not doing it?
I can move the pads slightly in front and back. Should bending those ears and adding that spring take care of this?
