G'Day all. Can any tell me what the colour of the original dash mounted speaker grill should be if fitted after the original 1964 F600 truck purchase? I bought one one ebay and it is black, some of the photos I have seen are the same colour as the dash. What is correct? Thanks.
if it has a padded dash, its a semi gloss black...same as the heater grilles and dash end cap pieces. If theres no pad its most common the dash color...I have seen them chrome too...but black is by far the most common...

Without a padded dash, the speaker grille is painted the same color as the top of the dash.
If the speaker grille is black, the truck has/had a padded dash, or the dash is/was painted black. Black painted dashboards were only used when the exterior color was black.
There is no such thing as a chrome speaker grille for these trucks...if you've seen one, a PO had it chromed.
TEXT / Section 182, Page 21 sez: COTZ18985A .. Radio Speaker Grille / Use with or without "crash pad" / PAINT to Match / Fits: 1960/66 F100/1100.
Just to clarify the non padded dash info Bill posted above...If the truck was a radio delete the dashboard itself was punched in the mesh pattern and the color of the dash. Ive heard that some of the early years w/o radios werent punched in the mesh pattern.
Hi.After all that helpfull info. I spoke with the painter and was told it would cost to much to match the colour and spray a small item as the cover, have you ever heard the minimium price story, in other words not interested. so as I have made a few mistakes along the way this will add one more I will paint it semi gloss with a rattle can. but will carry the correct specs.in my head. take care Brian.

What color is your dash?
Dearborn Classics (dearbornclassics.com-800-242-7427) sells the correct interior paint in spray cans.
Since Dearborn sells passenger car repro parts, the paint is listed for passenger cars only, but the cars used the same colors as the trucks.
I can list Dearborn's part number for the paint, as I have their catalog. If y'all want one...it's free. Call the 800 number to order it.
Or...for y'all that are "Down Under" or in Festung Europa, the UK...or anywhere else outside the US, email or call 541-318-7572.
There are 100's of other parts listed in their catalog that fit the trucks, including moulding clips, engine decals, horn rings, body hardware and a whole lotta other stuff too numerous to list.
Hi. Numbers Dummy thanks for your interest, The dash is painted a local mixed colour that is as close to Indian Turquoise and Corinthian White as we could get,so an original colour would not match. As far as shipping spray cans it's not on, they require a special container to be packed in for air mail postage. As far as I understand all commercial importers use road and sea freight. This is not an option for one can.Ford Australia no longer sells any model Ford trucks and when they did they where limited to only a few colours.take care Brian.
