Hi Guys,
Just hooked up my autoenginuity program today and pulled some codes. Anybody know where to start with these numbers? any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim
P1876 transfer case 2 wheel drive solenoid circuit failure
b1483 brake pedal input circuit failure
P0500 vehicle speed sensor A ( are their 2 of these? i already replaced one on the rear pumpkin)
B1201 Fuel sender circuitfailure. Fuel gauge is working
P0705 Transmission range sensor circuit malfunction.
I tried clearing these once and they all came back.
I agree that it sound like a faulty ground. I was getting the P0500 even after replacing the sensor on the 3rd member. It turned out to be a harness ground in front of the driver's battery. Since you are getting a couple related to the transfer case/tranny, it could be one along the harness under the truck.
Tow/haul light? Do you mean the O/D Off light on the shifter? If so, that's indicative of a transmission issue. I can't help with the AE stuff. Good luck.
Is there more than 1 speed sensor on a 2002 f350? Also, where are the shift solenoids located on the truck?
Thanks,
Tim
Besides the VSS on the rear pumpkin there are two on the tranny. One is mounted toward the front and monitors the input shaft speed and the other is mounted toward the rear to monitor output shaft speed. I believe those two are interchageable.
What makes you think they are bad? have you watched to see if they work? i believe the sequence is 1 in first, 2 in second. . . 1&2 in third, none in fourth. . . something like that. or its 1 in first, 1&2 in second and 2 in third. . . can't remember.
Timmy
That's a lot of seemingly unrelated codes so I'm going with what Guzzle is saying and look for corroded wiring.
Do you live in an area where they salt the roads in winter?
The funny thing is, this light never flashes underway. It blinks when you start it until you put it in gear, and then it goes out. Sometimes it never even comes on. I would think with a serious tranny problem, it would flash all the time. The one code i mentioned above said something like PRNDL input.
