Question Door Rubber

I'm going to be ahearing new door rubber to my 71 f-250. Could anyone take a pic. or explain how the stuff is applied at the bottom of the door? I think you're supposed to use screws, but how many?

Thanks for any input

i cant take any pics but i just did mine with dennis carpenter brand. there are 5 screws holding a metal cover and the rubber goes underneat that. by looking at it you can clearly see this and upon removing the cover you can see it as well.
the screws are probly corroded like mine were and a screwdriver will strip them, so its good to have one of those impact screwdrivers that you hit with a hammer and applies force and torque at the same time.
you use permatex weatherstrip adhesive to adhere the whole strip around the door and then the ends meet halfway under that cover. when your done your gonna have to slam the doors to get them to close but after a week or so they break in and youll have a nice tight seal. the prepwork is the most important part. use brake cleaner and sandpaper to remove all old residue and be working with a smooth clean surface.

Dennis Carpenter repops the best rubber, all made to Ford specks, not the cheapest price & ill fitting. IMHO

I used the LMC rubber. You squirt the adhesive and lay it down under the door seal plate and insert screws.

wow yours didnt have any of those plates on it? a wierd item to be missing. but then again i was missing the cover for the bottom half of my bellhousing. snow, rain, rocks, would all get caught up in my flywheel n all that jazz. its bizarre how some previous owners treat their trucks.

Ya haha, my previous owner took all kinds of things off the truck. They took the rear bumper, the front bumper, all of the tie hooks on the bed, and balded the rear tires, leading up to running the brand new engine without oil I also noticed how they took out thier gun rack and cb, and they even had a dual oil filter setup on the thing. Ha, who knows what goes through peoples' heads.
