this question has maybe been answered but im kinda confused on what to do?? i already have an edge programmer on my truck and i wanna install the dpf delete, now i saw some on you tube where they run some wires down to where to dpf was (i guess to get rid of trouble codes??) i dunno....so do i need to get all that or just the delete pipe?? since i have a programmer? maybe theres an update for the programmer?? and is there anyway it could pass emissions (TX) with the dpf delete kit on, cuz ive never seen them plug into the tail pipe to read emissions, seems like its all done through the computer...i dunno, little help haha thanks guys!!!
you and me are in the same boat, ive got the edge programmer, and i am trying to figure out how to do the exaust, option 1: leave the damn dpf and just side pipe it out the side , option 2: dpf back kit option 3: down pipe back this is where your dfp emulator comes in to play, the wires you saw on you tube are the dpf emulator, it hooks into the cpu and into the dpf sensors, it tricks the computer into thinking the dpf is fine, problem with that is that it is tricking the motor , ive been cruising this site and a few others to see what is what and the general consensus is that we have the wrong tuner, should have a Spartan, it comes with the dpf delet program , no emulator need, it reprograms the cpu to say the hell with the dpf no tricks , im thinking of selling my edge, and getting the spartan, now im worried that re re programing the cpu might fry it
well it seems if we were to get the wire kit, trickin the truck into thinking that the dpf is fine, then it will run just fine....right?? thats what it seems.....instead of spending like extra 1200 bucks on the spartan...where do u get a kit that have those emulator wires or whatnot?? oh also, i see on some websites were they sell edge programmer with dpf delete??? i guess the check engine light just stays on?? haha that would be annoying!
i looked at that web site, if u but that on there you have to let it sit for 15 seconds with they key on befor u can start it...kind of expensive as well, it would only be a couple hundred more to sell our prgrammer and get that spartan kit or whatnot...it seems....
that is why i plan on keeping programmer and adding dpf delete also.
what kind of mileadge do you get with banks?
My truck idles for hours on end my dpf is a pain in the a$%
so do yall think edge programmer will have an update??? so i could keep it instead of running with check engine light or waiting 15 seconds ever start up haha?? right now on highway with dpf back exhaust intake and edge 24's on 38's im gettin 14, not so bad....but better is always better haha
Hey there, it all depends on which edge you have. I have the edge race tuner and it has a built in dpf delete. So I removed the filter and installed a straight pipe and on the programmer turned the regen to off. What an improvement.
AG... did you hear a significant difference in sound from the dpf back banks? i was thinking of that system
