although this does apply to things i may be adding to my own truck in the future: what's the best way to wire "extras" like fog lights, air horns, etc? guessing not directly to the battery?
i had to go rescue my sister this morning cuz red wouldn't start. again. we have to send the expedition home with our dad tomorrow, so no spare. i am slightly selfish and don't particularly want to share my truck, either...i could let her drive my honda i suppose...
if you run direct from the battery use a fuse holder or fuesable link at the power source. and tap into the solenoid on the fender and not the battery.

That's exactly what I did. The alternator wire lands there and the wire back to the battery is actually smaller. I put in a fuse box from Welcome to Waytek Wire and now I can add circuits there.
One of the things I've already done is powered the headlamps with relays powered from there. They are MUCH brighter, and the biggest plus is that I don't end up with blinking headlamps every year when the POS headlamp switch gives up again.

hey joe what fuse box did you buy from waytek. i was wondering if they had somthing where i could run 1 power source to a box and then be able to power several differnt ACC of that box and be able to run diff size fuses for diff ACC.
thanks
Mitch
she tried solenoid, replacing the whole starter...we've had her running but not consistently, and my sis is about at her wit's end, not to mention out of "spare" change to put into her, so...it's kinda sad

Can you supply pictures and maybe a write-up as to what you did, how you did it and what you're running off it?
