Two ignition condensors?

Does anyone know why my '64 has two condensors. There is one in the usual spot inside the distributor, and another attached to the negative coil terminal and mounted on the coil bracket.

Also, since no ballast resistor was found do I assume correctly that a resistor wire is used?

The other condensor you are referring to is for the radio. It suppresses ignition noise (if it's still working that is).

Wow I would not have come close to figuring that out. Dont know if the radio works as the antenna and speaker are missing. Would like to get the old AM to play.
