Disclaimer, I have never worked on a FORD E4OD, but I will unfortunately get the opportunity very soon to so.
So at the risk of sounding ignorant, for my Dodge tranny, I just used 2 pieces of threaded metal stock from home depot (i.e. about 16 in" threaded rod) and used 2 heavy pipe bending dies that slid over it.
I screwed those into 2 of the bolt holes and gave it a couple of wacks...came right out.
Hopefully, there isn't too much diffence between Ford and Dodge in that respect......
well ,I used a heavy log chain hooked at the 2 bolts , hit it twice and it came out fairly easy, but the coast drum came out with it and now I have to figure out how to get the coast drum back in, I probably have to pull the od section, but have no idea on the re-assembly of it, is it a real hard or easy task?
