Hey guys,Sorry I've been gone for a while with work but I could really use some help. I'm putting the front end of my 66 back together and while running the wiring back into place it seems that a wire has come loose. On the radiator support there is a box mounted to it with a little condenser looking item that bolts to the side of it. The wire came out of it and it looks to be a non fix kind of deal. Is this part available or is this something I'm going to have to hunt for. I'm putting a new motor in it this weekend and am in kind of a fix. Please help if you can. thx.
the box that you are talking is the voltage regulator and the condencer is just that, it helps radio noise, it should be avaiable from any auto parts store, but you will need to find a good old parts guy, it may be hard to find by looking up in a computer, thay might need to get out the old books.
LMAO! Thanks Bill! I just talked to Don and he's digging through his pile to see if he still has one. BTW I got a very cool Barn Find this summer. One of our customers was moving to Montana and had an old car in her detached shop under a car cover. Said she was going to donate it. I said you can donate it to me. She went in the house and came back with the title and keys and said " here ya go". I went in the shop to uncover an almost mint condition 1971 Buick Riviera with a 455-4. It had been sitting for 10yrs all warm and cozy. With very little work she fired right up. I'll try and get some pics up in my gallery later but it gets to stay in her shop until she sells the place so it's nice and safe.
LOL...Thanks Bill...I checked and I dont have one Rob...but given the p/n Bill posted...looks like it would be an easy find at a wrecking yard...except the cold as heck temps around here....
As for my new toy...its coming by truck...More will be coming on it when it arrives.
A Sports Queen Family Truckster! sweet post a pic when you can Don, what's that seat like 9 or something?
It's a 10 passenger elephantine Land Yacht, parks EZ...in a city block!
The 3rd seat (there are actually two, directly opposite each other) will seat four Billy Barty's, four little kiddies, or four very scrunched up adults.
Entry/Exit to the 3rd seats is by way of the "Magic DoorGate" (a Ford innovation introduced in 1966), which either can be opened flat, or it swings open like a door.
"Squire" Don now needs to look for the genuine Ford accessory combo game board & picnic table kit (D9AZ74429B76A): 1973/77 version illustrated in Section 610, Page 9.
This is the perfect accessory for tailgate parties before the Sea Hawk or Mariner games...or for a gathering of scroungers at the local junkyards...
...Where "Squire" Don will be spending more time, looking for parts for this tub.
btw: That boat tailed Buick Riviera you acquired is another elephantine Land Yacht, very popular here in LA LA Land with low riders.
This is a cobbed up Country Sedan made for that Chevy Chase vacation film. The Country Sedans didn't come with the fake wood panels.
The added on fake wood panels on this thing are not representative of what a real 1979/91 Country Squire looks like, as they have been cut and then pieced back together in this crazy pattern.

I was just going to mention that!
Available for use with the side-facing rear seats was a folding table with integrated magnetic checkers board. Magnets under the plastic checkers pieces would keep them from sliding on the board while the vehicle was in motion.
Yup...Sports Queen Family Truckster...I absolutely LOVE the movie...except where they crush the 72 Olds Vista Cruiser...that car IS different then the one Chevy drives up in...I also am a HUGE fan of the GM Skyroof wagons...I had a 67 Sportwagon...and had an IDENTICAL one cept color sold out from under me a couple of days before I found the CV CS...purely by accident too on the internet...as for the table accessory...if any one has one...from all Ive heard and based on my friends description of the car with me on the other end of the tele...its a creampuff...this will be my 1st Ford wagon...and also the only one I would consider...'91 was the transition year to the 'plastic' cars...and thus was only a partial year run before changing over...the RWD wagons went away...of the wagons 4 versions...base and woody and LX or not there was a total of 3865 wagons...split that up among 4 versions= a rare ride...btw...there was 3,104 Merc Grand Marquis wagons made in '91....
Of the cars Ive had the majority have been wagons, followed by pickups...wagons have all been GM until now...
The funny thing is..I looked at the mpg rating..adjusted ...the CV is almost the same rating as my Ranger pickup...go figure....
Oh yeah...a couple of more things on the Vacation movie...all of the cars are still around...except the jumped one, which set a world record
if anyone has the 25th anniversary erdition of the movie...theres a big feature thing on the car and how it came to be...I THINK the base car was some where around a 79 to 83ish...the door mirror is what I am going by on that...
