My truck has an auxillary idle controller in the glove box and I am wondering what uses it has. I don't have a manual for it and am wondering what functions it has.
On another note the truck lost power and got real quite today when I left for work this morning. It had a good warm up ie warm air blowing. As I was pulling through the light it got real quite and seemed to be more of an air compressor than a diesel(no power) then everything resumed its normal rattle and such. It did this twice any thoughts?
The auxiliary idle controller can be used like a "governor" to hold the engine at a specific speed when the transmission is in neutral. It is used to run the engine fast if you have power driven accessories like a hydraulic pump or a generator on the engine.
