I just bought an 83 RV w/ Ford chasis. In replacing broken running lights, I must have blown a fuse, because all running lights and tail lights are now inoperative. All fuses at fuse panel under dash near steering column seem good. Owners manual says running and tail lights are controlled with a circuit breaker at the switch. Should I be focusing my search for the circuit breaker, or is there another fuse panel for running and tail lights that I should be searching for?
I am stumped on how to proceed. Any advise gratefully appreciated.
It most likely is a bad headlamp switch if they decided to run all the lights off the factory headlamp switch without relays to power the many little lamps that are on a RV.
If your vehicle came from the factory with the towing package, there should be Ford relays near the back of the chassis somewhere.

The headlamps continue to work, so could the switch still be bad? There is a "Receiver" type hitch on the RV, so I will look near the back of the chassis.
Congrats on the new RV, and welcome to FTE. Found a solution yet? I've got an '82 E-350 that keeps me busy fixing it.
Would the factory tow package be part of what Ford provides to RV dealers? I thought it was pretty bare bones, just the cab and the frame, and the RV manufacturer put in all the wiring? Maybe a circuit breaker or relay in your RV circuit panel (I'm assuming a class C RV here).

George,
Thanks for the warm welcome to this forum. Are you the George Brett that used to pitch in the majors? Prolly not, but figured I would ask anyway.
Good thought about the RV manufacturer (Class C unit) putting in the wiring and installing the running lights on the coach. I checked the coach fuse box. There are just a few reset type breakers, and none needed resetting. If there are relays or circuit breakers, I would like to find them. My guess is that the running lights plug into the Ford chassis wiring harness. I recently tarped up the RV for the winter, so I won't be doing any work on the unit until Spring. Thanks for your thoughts George. You had a really great fast ball back in the time, if indeed you are the baseball player.
Rooster, I put a quote by George Brett in my signature line, but no, I'm not him. Folks put things like favorite quotes, their list of vehicles, pictures, etc. Look at Rebocardo's tag line for another example. George was a 3rd baseman for the KC Royals, but I suppose he could throw a decent fastball.
I too am pretty much done with the RV for the winter. I drive it around the block about once a month so the tires don't go flat on one side. Plus I fire the generator occasionally since I might need it if the power goes out in the house.

I am not that much into ML baseball. You can tell, as I thought George Brett pitched. Good idea to drive around the block to stop tires from flat spotting. I have my RV tarped, so don't have that option. Thanks................Larry
