The wweather was so bad that I pulled aside and tried puttin it in 4 wheel drive.. Got back on road and then it was clink clink clink...pulled back over turned it off ( i did not lock my hubs)
Went another 10 miles or so..
Suddenly heard real loud clunking noise.. As if the wheel/tire of the left front was getting stuck...
The truck is not parked..cant really move it reverse of forward. IF YOU MEMBER>>> i had a lady hit me on that tire.... Could it be the hub is really messed up now?
what could it be... i think i have to have it towed to the mechanics now.. and its gonna be really expensive.
Been there, done that. Yeah, you will probably need a new hub. Ours didn't engage but you could still drive the truck. Keep us informed as to what you find in there. Just so it isn't something in the differential if the axle shaft got pushed in.
But I think that hub is probably toast... Set of pliers and a hammer and you can have that hub off to inspect it. Don't need to take the tire off. With the hub off, you can still drive it!!!! It will float in the wheel bearing...
Or maybe you just lost a wheel bearing, It is real easy to do yourself!!! If you can jack it up and feel the play in the wheel? Some basic tools and you can swap that wheel bearing in no time...

well i was right and u guys were right... wheel bearing and hub were shot..
there was nooo way i could jack that truck up lol
This is all because of my damn insurance waiting to drag this out. Now they will have to pay for the tow, rental and all repairs. The guy said i could even need a new rotor if that has been messed up as well..
You should have the insurance replace both front bearings, just in case, because youe know that hit on one side could have damages the other side
Something like that happened to my wife once. She was driving a Saturn Sedan and got rear ended. Well being hit in the rear threw off the front alignment.
