I brang a 2005 6.0 with 206,000 miles into the shop and they said the ficm was bad and i seen myself that only one injector was bad but they said they recommend changing all four on one side and they were hesitant to change just the one, i told them i was selling the vehicle and i didn't want to change all of them, they agreed. Got it back it Runs Great, Allright Now before the ficm went out, the one injector was bad but it ran just fine, ok now i brought another diesel up there a 2006 with 155,000 on it that was not starting right, i had to warm up the glow plugs a couple of times and then it would start and run just fine it even had more power than the 05' with 206,000 on it, anyway they told me that it needs 4 injectors replaced, i find this hard to believe when i drove it up there like i was a superstar, could anybody give me any info on this it would be great,
He means perhaps they ordered 80 injectors instead of the desired 8 for stock, and they're trying to unload them on you.
Also, punctuation and grammar make sentences much easier for people to read. I had to read your post 3 times to fully comprehend it. Please consider it.
It is hard to comment on this really ....... without knowing what tests were performed and the results of those tests. That being said, bad troubleshooting does occur. It is unfortunate, but it can be quite costly when it does happen. For this reason, these 6.0L forums are VERY valuable! I will say though - most dealerships and techs have their hands full w/ a complicated engine and also with Ford looking over their shoulder scrutinizing their work.
the concern is not on heard of at all. its called injector stiction. now I have no way to know if thats the issue you have or not. If you hang a spool valve open or closed then they will be hard to start. I would try a reflash and an oil change first and drive it 100 miles. then see if it still does it. also toss some pm22 and injector lube in and give it ago. all in that is maybe $200 to try it out. wich is still cheaper then 1 injector
