Not the return lines. An actual leaky injector.

Is it leaking by the threads where it screws into the head.

An injector slobbering fuel into the cylinder is a bad thing. Washes the cylinder walls, thins the oil and does not lubricate very well.

Injector leaking on the outside is just really messy for the most part.

May also want to consider how much and where the fuel is going.
Running down on the exhaust is not really a good place for fuel.

The groove around the injector body left of the threads is where the injector screws together.
I have seen them leak at that joint.
The copper washer seal goes around the tip and rests against the bottom of the main injector body, you can see it in the picture if you look hard.
Just above (right) of the copper washer is the place to put the wrench when you take the injector appart.

Since the actual seal is down that far, a leak at the injector joint will come up around the threads.

Several years ago I had a dump truck with a 427 in it and blew a head gasket between two cylinders I thought it was just a miss as no compression in water and not heating or losing any water, so I finished the day and drove 60 miles home.

With no compression on 2 cylinders (compression just going back and forth) I pulled the head and it had cut over 1/8 inch groove in the block and head.

So if an injector is leaking by the threads could it cut the head.

If the leak is just fuel, I don't think so.
Compression, you bet.

But then if you drove it far enough with just fuel, damage would be a possibility.

Almost amazing what they cut with water under very high pressure.
If I remember right, I was reading on a Stanadyne site the other day, the DB2 IP is capable of somewhere around 10,000 PSI at max pressure.
