What to expect from 04 F150

I currently have a 97 F150 XLT I am passing down to my son and plan to get a newer one. With adding my son onto our insurance , I need to get a kinda low payment so will be looking at 04-05s. I know about the issues with the spark plugs and can deal with that myself by getting the removal tool, but I was wondering if there are any other particular issues i should expect with an 04 or 05?

i dont know of anything other than the plugs but you should try to get an FX4 trim. i wish i had looked a little more for one than just jumping in mine.

I have a 2004 STX, from what i read, rear ends were a problem in those years (mine was fixed before i got it) spark plugs in just the 5.4's, IWEs for the 4WD in all years seem to be going bad. Those i think are the majors. Other than some other maintainence on my 2004 (and me being very **** about the truck) it hasnt been too bad, runs good with the 4.6, i like the ride and the room in the extended cab.

Oh and make sure you get power windows, its takes alot of cranks to get those big windows down.
