lug nut

anybody know what is the size of the wheel nut on 2009 f250 ?

you missing the wrench for the truck? I really don't know, would have to get some sockets out to see so if you don't have a set, stop by autozone or napa and ask to borrow some sizes to you know the one to buy.

I am thinking 3/4 but don't know...don't go with a 3/8" socket if you go with at least 1/2" drive

This actually is a tough question. I would bet that technically it's a metric nut with metric fine threads. Not easily figured out unless you go to Fastenal and try a bunch of nuts on your stud.

Advance auto parts' website has it listed as a "M14-1.5"....whatever that means!

14 millimeter dia and 1.5 threads per millimeter

For an M14 nut, the socket should be a M17, 18, 19. Nothing unusual and should be included in any standard 1/2" drive socket set. If you get above 21 you would probably need to buy individually.
