A couple of times in the morning, cold start, the temp. light stays illuminated. The gauge shows cold, and after about a minute it turns off. Now, another piece of info that may or may not affect this. Durning this time, the power steering groans loadly for about a minute and than it fine.
Temp. Sensor? Serpentine belt loose, causing both problems? Any ideas would be great.
Your probably just low on both fluids. There is a sender unit inside the Coolant Reservoir, if it's low it (the light) will come on. If your antifreeze is fairly new, just go out and buy some 50/50 mixed antifreeze (for use with any antifreeze, any vehicle) Prestone makes this, $8.00 for a gallon at Walmart. While your there get some power steering fluid. That noise you hear is your power steering pump sucking in air because it's low.
Just be careful opening up the reservoir for your anti freeze, that basically is your radiator cap, never seen one shoot fluid out of it, but just always be careful if the vehicle is hot. or just do it cold. There are fill lines on the anti freeze reservoir and power steering reservoir. So about $12.00 should take care of both, easy fix!
