I have a 1989 5.0 (Fuel Injected) in My '77 Bronco. The problem is that I cant get it to heat up. I have changed the Thermostat. The one I took out I heated in a pot of water with a cooking thermometer and it opened at the right temp 195. There is a small hose on the side of the waterpump that is looped to the thermostat housing. I wonder if this is not supposed to be hooked here. Some way the water must be bypassing the thermostat and not letting the engine get to normal temp. This is causing the engine to run very rich (cold temp=choke) foul plugs and provide low fun factor. Ane Ideas? This is my first FORD and I dont know much about the engines (yet). Thanks, Andy
Not really, do you know how to load them into your gallery?
create a gallery and it will allow them to be pulled from your desktop.
I think there is a forum on this website for set up questions, or ask in the general discussion, if thats not the right place they will move it to the right one . later
Ok, I created a gallery and put in a few pics that we took of the water pump and associated hoses. It doesnt show much though. I wonder still about the hose that connects the thermostat housing and the waterpump. The hose is so short that it is kinked (kind of) in the elbow. There must have been a pre curved hose there if this is the correct installation (Factory). Thank you in advance,
Are you talking about the little hose that is to the left of the large hose? They both meet at the thermostat housing. If so, then it should be there, just like that.
that is the heater bypass hose you can get it at checker for 5 bucks..........I have the same prob then it heats up all the sudden and spews anti freeze every were .....any I deas??
