53-72 tailgate needed
Anybody have a good used tailgate for my 53? Thought I had a good one, but evidently from a 73 up. It is 4 inches wider than my original. Puting this one back as an all original driver and like many of you guys, looking for a deal.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "good", what exactly a "deal" would be, where you're located, and how much you're willing to give to the UPS guy for shipping? I do have an original 55 gate sitting in inventory I'd be willing to part with.

Tailgate
Well a new aftermarket price ranges from $360 to $375, plus shipping. I have a found a couple of used ones, which will need some work for $65 & $75 respectfully. Bottom line is that I am not willing to pay $360, but would pay more for gate that needs no work.
I live in SC, so unless I buy in SC, GA or NC, I will pay shipping regardless.
Just let me know the price.

I have a used one that will require work. I'm north of Atlanta. You can have it for free if you want to come and get it. It was bent along the top the last I saw. It also has the requisite rust and dings from 56 years of use.
